We're finally finishing up our in-depth caterpillar/butterfly study and this is the last free download from the study! I loved making these butterfly exploration cards! They turned out to be useful in so many ways. You can download them for free at the bottom of my post! Enjoy!
We just loved studying the beauty of butterflies and the whole metamorphosis process. My children are small, a first grader and a preschooler, so I've had to find ways to explore these creatures as best we can by meeting their learning needs. I made the cards using canva.com and they cost $1 each, but I'm offering them to you for for free! I used the cards to make a set of matching symmetry for my preschooler and they both used the cards to find the butterfly types in photo books we borrowed from the library. You can use them in this way as well.
What we ended up doing that was the most fun was using these with tracing paper for my first grader (and myself) to trace the butterfly species and then cut and paste them into our nature journals! We were able to use gardenswithwings.com to help us learn facts about these butterflies we traced. So fun!
Thanks so much for stopping and for following me! You can download my free butterfly exploration cards here.
