Preschool Garden Play Packet
Homeschooling older children with a preschooler can be challenging, but I wanted to include some learning experiences through play for my little one.
This garden play packet is one of several other play packets for preschool which I've created this past year!
This one is probably my favorite because of the subject. My little one is so excited about seeds and the seed to plant cycle this spring from some other experiences we've had with seeds and plants. We're growing a garden together and she's noticing seeds in the food we eat as well.
This packet turned out so cute and she loves all the garden themed pieces, especially these Farmer's Market match-ups! Match up packets to plants, count and match plants to numerals! Store in your seed pack envelopes! These and more fun games are available here.
This time of year, you may be excited about the next round of school and you're diligently looking for deals and planning what resources you'd like for next school year. Or you may just be ready for summer vacation! Either way, I know you want to know more ways to save money for your family. I recently posted, "10+ Ways Homeschool Moms Can Save", but I've found one more that I wanted to share.
I recently searched for ways to save money online and found a blog post about "honey".
I've used the free membership for a couple of months and have found it to be a great tool. This is a great time to find deals on homeschool resources, but how do you know if it's the best time to buy or if you're getting the best deal? Honey gives you that info and more. You're gonna love this as you shop for next year's resources.
Montessori Fruit Peeling and Cutting
In this learning set up, work with your preschooler on both peeling and slicing fruit. Plus, tie in a great piece of literature featuring fruit!
What I love about the Montessori method, which I'm learning more about, is the simplicity it lends to learning. You can do montessori preschool activities in your own home. They are practical and essential for our babies.
In this learning activity, I wanted my baby to practice the everyday skill of peeling and slicing fruit. (This is a no brainer, really.) Montessori encourages us to teach our babies everyday tasks.
Let's Learn About Weather!
Learning about weather is so "cool"! No, really, it's the hottest new thing. No, really. Okay, enough jokes.
Spring is a great time to study weather! The weather changes so frequently during the months of March through May and so I wanted our weather study to span a couple months time.
For my first grader, I wanted her to:
-discover the types of clouds
-read about weather instruments
-add to her observational knowledge about different types of weather
Montessori Nature Jars
I like to bring the outdoors in and so do my babies.
They're always picking flowers -even in places they shouldn't. Haha!
So, my preschooler and I recently put together some nature jars full of things she found around our own backyard!
These are a great addition to your nature area or your Montessori area.
Plus, they're practically free to make. Ready to explore some nature up close with your little one?
